I met Ben in 2008, on my first hike with the Ouachita Mountain Hikers. We saw much of each other over the next eight to nine years, in the Ouachitas, Ozarks, and up on the Buffalo National River. I don't anyone in our club who better knew Arkansas, or was so willing to be our guide to trails, forest roads and eateries. In later years, he often shuttled when I was a trail guide. I was so appreciative of his help and advice, I made sure he got a bottle of his favorite Arky wine...Muscatel...each time he joined me. I hope he's sitting on my shoulder when I'm out there on a solo hike. He and Marge will be missed. Rick Ericson
